Cinematic narratives for stories that matterI’m Alina Kapustian — a film director, screenwriter, and producer.Founder of BookTrailer Production.

I create cinematic narrative works inspired by literature, brands, and cultural ideas — not to explain stories, but to let them be felt.

WHO I AM

Illustration

I’m a Ukrainian film director working at the intersection of cinema, literature, and meaning-driven storytelling.

My background is rooted in author-led short films and cinematic adaptations of literary worlds. I’m drawn to stories that stay with the viewer after the final frame — stories that don’t offer ready-made answers, but open an inner dialogue.
For me, film is not a format.
It’s a state.

Not a message, but an experience.

WHAT I CREATE

  • I work with stories in different contexts, but always with the same focus: emotion, atmosphere, and inner meaning.

    For books & publishing
    ● cinematic book teasers and trailers● mood-driven narrative videos inspired by literature● visual adaptations of story worlds for launches and promotion

    For brands & cultural projects
    ● cinematic brand films and narrative campaigns● atmospheric teasers for collections, events, and concepts● meaning-driven visual stories for cultural and creative initiatives

I don’t work with templates or trends. Each project is built as a unique narrative form, shaped around the core of the story.

HOW I WORK

I work in close dialogue with the author, brand, or rights holder.

The process usually begins with reading, listening, and reflection — not with production.I don’t rush stories. I try to understand what they want to become.

Typical process:

Conversation & context

understanding the idea and emotional goal

Director’s vision

concept, mood, and narrative direction

Production & post-production

filming, editing, sound, color

Delivery & adaptations

formats for different platforms, if needed

I build small, focused teams depending on the project and work with licensed music and clear production agreements.

WHY THIS APPROACH

I’m not interested in making content that disappears after a scroll.
My work is about the aftertaste:● when a story doesn’t end with the video● when the viewer pauses instead of scrolling further● when a quiet inner conversation begins

That’s the space I work with.
